Forested Pork
We love our pigs and the amazing service they offer our land. Pigs are mono-gastric animals, so unlike our cattle who as ruminants, get all the nutrition they need from grass and forages, pigs need a complete protein. In addition to foraging for acorns in the fall, eating the lush bounty of greens in the spring and summer, and eating the stockpiled forages and mast in the winter; we supplement our pigs with a ration of organic, locally grown barley, field peas, alfalfa and wheat. We do not feed any corn or soy to our pigs as these plants have been shown to cross pollinate with their (strange) GMO cousins while also, making the meat they produce inflammatory with high levels of omega 6’s. We never use any dewormers or pharmaceuticals on our pigs. We meet all organic standards and beyond for how we raise our pigs.Â
100% Grass Fed Beef
Our cattle are raised out on pasture 365 days a year. They feast on the lush forages we move them to everyday, and we stockpile forages late in the year so that we may use as little hay as possible. There are never any chemicals used on our pasture or hay crop.
